Inner and outer space

I have to admit, that while making these sea urchins and thinking about what fantastic creatures lurk beneath the sea, that the polymer clay aspect of these molded creatures takes on a bit of a sci-fi look when treated with different colours. Here are some unfinished pieces but all around am very pleased how they turned out. Those nippled pieces could make some cool Turtle backs.....will see how they turn out....

The round urchins were a challenge, especially since I made mine hollow....

Great new pieces Tina! Have you thought of making shards of shell instead of predictable shapes? These are great!

Thanks Barb :)
Yes, I'm planning on making whole and shard pieces for a design I have in mind...with stick coral fringe type beading....probably a winter project, lol. Never too early to collect and gather though, right?

Wow! I can sympathise totally with the challenge of making those hollow forms without squishing the nippley bits :) You've done a fantasic job, and the colours are sublime!
